I really enjoy eating at this Japanese restaurant on Denman in Vancouver's west end. The staff here are very friendly and helpful. The mark of a good Japanese restaurant is the tempura and the tempura here is great. I usually get a salmon combination lunch or dinner. Everything is tasty including the miso soup. The staff at the hotel I stay at in Vancouver recommended this place and I am glad that they did. The nigiri sushi I have tried at Big Bang has been great too. I will continue to eat here when I visit Vancouver. I visit here often.

I ordered salmon sashimi, an avocado salmon roll, and the red dragon roll. It definitely hit the spot and satisfied my sushi craving, and I would order from them again. The salmon avocado roll was a bit uneven in terms of the amount of salmon and avocado to rice ratio, with some pieces having way more rice than salmon/avocado. The salmon sashimi had a hint of lemon flavour to it, and the rice had a vinegar taste to it. I have a dietary restriction when it comes to spice, so I asked for no wasabi on the side, which they thankfully followed; However, I was not expecting my Red Dragon roll to be covered in a spicy sauce. I tried to scrape it off but it was pretty soaked all over, so I wasn’t able to eat most of it. From what I did try, the roll was delicious though!

What a great little sushi restaurant. They have it all, bento boxes, sashimi, sushi, rolls, etc. The service is fantastic, as is the food. Will be a regular here for sure.

The staff were really helpful and friendly and accommodated our allergies, vegan options, and gluten free options really well! We were missing the two cones in our order, however, and the nori was a little stale. Unfortunately we didn't notice until already home.
